Despite its rather odd name, Wauies features an impressive variety of animals you can breed and sell, and a huge range of décor for you to add to your store. To set up a pet shop in Wauies is pretty simple. All you need is the correct pens or cages and the animals you can place in these pens or cages, all of which can be purchased from the store. In addition to the more common animals like cats, dogs, certain types of rodents and rabbits, the game also features unique pets including ferrets, opossum, capybara, and even a teacup pig! You could even add in “add-ons”, like food and water bowls, to your pens.
The animals in this game are pretty easy to take care of. Whenever a pet needs something, a bubble will pop up above it and you just need to click on it to fulfill its needs. You could also breed your pets in the nursery as long as you have 2 mature adults of opposing genders. The breeding process is pretty straightforward as well and costs very little game cash (called PetCash).
Once completed, you’ll get at least 1 offspring – it can be more though since certain animals give birth by the litter – which you can then place in your allocated pen. Surprisingly, the young and absolutely adorable animals are not worth as much in Wauies. Instead, if you want to maximize your profits, you will need to age them into adulthood. It will take awhile for the youngling’s growth timer to count down to 0 though.
Selling pets is one way of earning more PetCash, but it is rather slow. To get more cash quickly, you might be better off completing quests. Quests are fairly easy to complete, but the quest log you’re given to track your progress can turn messy as the game doesn’t separate out all the completed, incomplete and inaccessible quests, especially if you skipped doing some of the quests. For more cash, you can also invest in building some production facilities in the basement of your shop, so you could produce pet supplies to stock the shelves of your shop. There’s another option of buying your supplies directly from an unknown manufacturer but your profit margin will be significantly less.
Although the animals may be a critical part of the game, the customers matter too! To keep your customers happy, you’ll need to provide sufficient amount of facilities, such as dustbins and restrooms, and décor. Interestingly, you’ll also get a special companion pet in Wauies who will be able cheer up the customers currently in your shop and even attract new ones through the door. However, your companion has limited amounts of energy and will need to sleep to recharge once its energy is depleted.
Wauies is also a pretty social simulation game as it allows you to add friends and visit their shops to do some chores for free experience points. There are also card pieces that you can collect (a lot like what you may have experienced in My Sunny Resort) for free décors or to be traded with other players or your friends for a card piece you need. More than 70 achievements are available in Wauies for you to attain too.
All in all, Wauies is definitely a pet shop simulation game that pet-loving gamers would enjoy playing immensely.
