Two Big Name Horses Ruled Out for Cheltenham Festival 2021

Diesen Artickel einschätzen Those that have already backed their horse for this month's Cheltenham Festival will have to hope they have their non-runner no bet terms are in place because 2 big names are 100% ruled out. Pferde Spiele Online - Two Big Name Horses Ruled Out for Cheltenham Festival 2021

Buveur D'Air Will Not Run in the Champion Hurdle

Nicky Henderson, the trainer of Buveur D'Air a 2-time winner, has pulled his prize horse from the Champion Hurdle in favour of taking him to the Aintree Hurdle at the Grand National. Had the horse run, he would have been on for his third Champion Hurdle win after he won the same race event in 2017 and 2018.

Last year Buveur D'Air missed out because of a splinter after a splinter in his hoof prevented him from participating to defend his championship for a third consecutive year. Even with the splinter the impressive horse came in at second place in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle, which was in Newcastle in 2019. And although Buveur D'Air has recovered after 420 days of no racing, he came in second place in January, just passed at Haydock in January.

However, the stable feels the best course of action to look towards the Grand National for a big event ‘come back’, so this is one to watch out for in April at Aintree!

How The Odds Are Changing & Keeping Up To Date

One of the most important add-ons to look for when placing a bet using an online bookie is that the non-runner no bet terms are in place. It means if the trainer/stable decides to pull the horse out before the race, i.e., it does not run, the bet will become void and your money returned. It is also a good idea to use free bets to back second the third favourites in case the favourite does pull out of the running because when the odds drop, you’ll already have the best odds available on the horse.

Some betting markets you have include outright winner, each way, forecasts, and accumulators. There will be plenty of free bets and offers like extra places cash-back offers. Look out for the chance to sign up for free bets with no deposit and bump up your free bet bonuses with deposit match for a cash deposit. That will give you a free bonus bet with no cash needed for this bet type, more free bets from your deposit, and bets from your deposited cash!

Saint Roi Out of Cheltenham Festival

The Champion Hurdle is now wide open after trainer Willie Mullins confirmed that Saint Roi, a 6-year-old with possibly the best chance of winning the race or at least good for an ‘each way’ bet is now not going to run.

With the horse’s recent cruise to victory in the County Hurdle the year before, Saint Roi looked in great shape and the bookies went wild shortening the odds with the words ‘favourite’ in the making being touted around contending stables when we all expected Saint Roi to take part in the Champion Hurdle.

However, 3 recent defeats with the Irish Champion Hurdle being perhaps the most disappointing after being beaten by at least 20 lengths, there is more work to be done. It is a shame because initially when Saint Roi came back into action, things looked promising after a convincing win at Tipperary!

Yet, the horse still has some niggling injuries and the Cheltenham Festival is just too far of a stretch to risk further damage. Full recovery and future major hurdle events are the best way forward for the stable, trainer, and horse.
