After signing up and logging in, you’ll first need to activate your account before you’ll be introduced to the game’s many features through the incredibly helpful tutorial. However, if you feel like figuring things out yourself, you are actually given the option to opt out of the tutorial.
To begin, you’ll first need to get yourself a horse. You can head over to the Equine Center to do so. Each new horse you create will cost you $1000 (that’s in Equiverse Dollars or EVD) but you are allowed to pick the breed and sex of your horse in addition to giving your horse a name. Of course, you can also create a completely customized horse at 15 credits or EVC (premium currency) per horse, whereby you can choose your horse’s appearance from top to toe as long as it is genetically possible for the breed you want. If cash isn’t a problem for you though, you might want to get better horses at the Auction House instead.
Breeding is only unlocked at account level 6 and it’s the best and cost-free method to get a new horse with genes that you like. However, do take note that you aren’t allowed to crossbreed or inbreed horses in Equiverse. You could also do something nice in the game and choose to adopt an abandoned horse from the Rescue Center at a lower cost. You’ll be giving those poor horses a comfy new home too.
Taking care of a horse, albeit a virtual one, is not an easy matter. It is your responsibility to ensure that your horse is well taken care of. This means daily feeding, watering, and grooming. Don’t forget to muck out your horse either! For Happiness, you can increase it by bringing your horse out for a leisure ride by the beach or any of the 5 beautiful locations available.
On the same page where you can care for your horse, you’ll be able to check out the list of detailed information about your horse, ranging from its conformation and health to its pedigree, lineage and breeding status too.
Horses in Equiverse are also assigned their specialty by their very first owners. You can choose one of the six disciplines in the game and set it as the main discipline for your horse. Once done, you can then increase the stats of your horse based on the required stats of that specific discipline.
How? Well, there are many ways you can increase a horse’s stats. One of the easiest methods is by feeding them treats. You can buy treats at the General Store and different treats will increase different stats. Depending on the stats you want, you might want to buy that specific type of treats. Other methods include sending your horses to the training center or a riding school of its discipline, or buying and equipping tack based on the specialty of your horse.
After increasing your horses’ attributes and choosing a suitable stable to board your horse, you are ready to show off how awesome your horse is! To do so, you will need to go to the Shows section of the game. Here, you can choose enter your horses into events that fit their disciplines. There will be an entry fee to pay but if your horse manages to get into any of the top 3 spots, you’ll get some prize money from the pot in return. If not, there’s still a chance your horse may gain some extra stat points.
Aside from horses, there are a ton of other features in Equiverse as well. You can store your cash in the Bank to earn some interest over time; repair and upgrade your tack at the Tack Workshop; collect your daily freebie at the Junk Yard and the Fountain; have fun playing the many mini-games at the Games Tent and more!
For player-player interactions, Equiverse provides a well-moderated and very active forum for you to discuss your interest with other horse enthusiasts or you could even chat with players who are online.
